The Cullmann Bristol DayPack 600+ is a generously sized camera backpack for daily photography needs. It features an easy access to the main compartment on the back and on the left side. The style of the backpack is minimalistic and doesn’t resemble typical camera backpacks: from the outside the Cullman Bristol is similar to Hershell backpacks.
The main compartment has dividers setting up space for your camera on the bottom and five smaller divided areas on top for your lenses or accessories. The dividers are user-adjustable. The space for camera is easily accessible on the left side.
On the right side of the backpack there is a strap for your tripod, which I unfortunately found out to have a holder that lets the strap loosen itself easily. I would recommend to use some sort of extra holder to keep the strap tight around your tripod.
Design and Quality
The Cullmann Bristol backpack is available in two different color options: brown and blue. The backpack is made out of polyester, which appears to be of good quality. The cover flap is waterproof. The flap is closed with two straps that are made of real leather. On the flap there can be found the Cullmann logo, which respectively is made out of real leather too.
The thing that strikes out to me in the design of this backpack is that it doesn’t look like many other photography oriented backpacks. It is minimalistic and reminiscent of the design in Hershell backpacks. A big plus if that pleases your eye!
Main Compartment for Camera Gear
The main compartment is divided into six sections in total for your camera, lenses and other gear. The material is soft polyester. On the inside of the main compartment flap there are two pockets for memory cards and other smaller items.
Tripod Holder and Elastic Side Mesh
The tripod holder I see to be the weak link in this backpack. The strap is a little too smooth and shiny to have a proper hold of your tripod, the strap gets loosened in the strap holder. I would highly recommend some other clip to hold the strap tightly. The elastic side mesh is big enough to fit two bottles so no gripes there.
Side Flap to the Main Compartment
Another great aspect of the design of this backpack is that the side flap grants an easy access to the main compartment where your camera is.
Pricing and Verdict
Overall the Cullmann Bristol DayPack 600+ is great value for money and design-wise. As of August 31st 2023 the price on Amazon.de is €74.71. My verdict for this backpack: 4/5, great!
